The patented CK Flexible Purge Chamber is used in the Tungsten InertGas (TIG) process to provide a completely inert atmosphere for thewelding of reactive metals such as titanium, molybdenum, nickel-basedand aluminum-based alloys, as well as non-reactive metals like stainlesssteel. Unique to this design is the ability to draw a vacuum around theproduct to be welded by collapsing the chamber. The chamber is thenfilled through a perforated hose that encircles the bottom of the chamberallowing the argon gas to expel all atmospheric gases more effectivelythrough the top valve port. This significantly reduces the time required toreach an inert atmosphere suitable for welding, while using considerablyless gas than traditional rigid purge chambers.
